TRIAL Objectives:
To
carry out an induced blow-out at 60 mph. then complete and observe the following
tests.

Vehicle
stability and capability to continue in a straight line, during and after the
blow-out. |
| b. |
Driver to
report any difficulty in controlling the vehicle, plus the steering effort
required. | |

| c. |
Test cornering
capability on the deflated tyre through:
Long 180 deg. left turn @ 60
mph.
Left hand 'T' turn @ 20 mph.
Long 90 deg. right turn @ 60
mph.
Right hand 'T' turn @ 20 mph. |

Swerve and
slalom tests, to check the effects of violent weight transfer on the fully laden
vehicle. | |

Emergency stop.
Check ability of the TYRON band to lock the tyre to the wheel rim. Observe
ability for the vehicle to stop in a straight line, the steering effort required
and degree of driver control. |

Carry
out manoeuvrability and parking tests. |

Check condition
of the wheel and tyre on completion. |

Check for
damage to the vehicle, especially around spray suspension, wheel arch and brake
